Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Tottenham
Man with Van Tottenham is committed to conducting its business in a responsible, ethical and transparent manner. This Modern Slavery Statement explains the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all staff, agency workers, contractors and suppliers engaged by Man with Van Tottenham.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any individual or organisation that is involved in forced labour, servitude, compulsory work or the exploitation of vulnerable people. Compliance with our policy is a condition of working with us and any suspected breach will be treated with utmost seriousness.
Our zero-tolerance stance is reflected in our internal policies on ethical conduct, recruitment and supplier management. All managers are responsible for ensuring that the people and businesses they engage adopt and uphold equivalent standards and that any concern is reported without delay.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Man with Van Tottenham provides transport and moving services, primarily within the local and regional area. Our operations rely on a combination of directly engaged staff, self-employed drivers, vehicle hire providers, fuel suppliers, equipment suppliers and other service providers such as storage facilities and maintenance providers.
We recognise that risks of modern slavery can arise in sectors such as logistics, cleaning, construction, and temporary labour. We therefore assess our supply chain with a particular focus on high-risk categories and locations and take proportionate steps to reduce and manage those risks.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and comply with applicable labour, human rights and health and safety laws. As part of our due diligence, we expect suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded or involuntary labour and that they provide fair working conditions and wages.
Where appropriate to the scale and risk profile of the relationship, we conduct periodic checks on suppliers. These checks may include reviewing written policies, requesting evidence of right to work practices, and seeking confirmation of compliance with modern slavery legislation. For higher risk or strategic suppliers, we may conduct more detailed assessments or on-site visits, either directly or through trusted third parties.
If a supplier is found to be in breach of our standards, we will seek corrective action within a defined timeframe. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate relationships with suppliers who are unwilling or unable to meet our requirements.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, agency workers and suppliers to speak up if they suspect or observe any form of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business. Concerns can be raised in person to a line manager, to senior management or through any existing internal reporting process operated by Man with Van Tottenham.
All reports will be taken seriously and handled sensitively, with appropriate confidentiality. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Where necessary, we will work with relevant authorities or specialist organisations to address identified risks and safeguard any affected individuals.
Training and Awareness
We aim to build awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and key contractors. This includes communicating our zero-tolerance stance during onboarding, reminding personnel of reporting channels, and explaining common indicators of exploitation, such as confiscation of identity documents, restriction of movement or clear signs of coercion.
Managers involved in recruitment, procurement or supplier oversight are expected to understand the potential risk areas relevant to their roles and to apply due diligence in all engagements.
Monitoring, Review and Continuous Improvement
Man with Van Tottenham is committed to reviewing and improving its approach to tackling modern slavery. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures through feedback from staff, supplier assessments, and any concerns or incidents that are reported.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every year by our senior management. As part of the annual review, we consider changes in our business model, supply chain structure, legislation and best practice guidance. Where necessary, we update our policies, training, due diligence and audit processes to strengthen our safeguards.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Tottenham and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business.
